Doors Open Weekend:

1) The Niagara Gorge Discover Center -The Niagara Gorge Discovery

    Center – Gorge Hikes to Schoellkopf Power Station 3; from 9:30

    a.m. to 12 noon, and 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. take a gorge trail hike and 

    learn about the construction and operation of the facility, as well as

    the June 7, 1956 rock slide.  Registration required; Call

2) 195th Anniversary of the Battle of Queenston Heights – Saturday,

    October 13

    This special commemorative event includes reenactment activities at

    Queenston Heights, a 2:30 p.m. commemorative service at Brock’s

    Monument, 3:00 p.m. tour of the Battlefield with author Robert

    Malcolmson, and a 6:00 p.m. dinner at Queenston Heights

    Restaurant. Battle reenactment at 2:00 p.m.

3) Asa Ransom House – Creative Retreat – basics of knitting with

    expert artisan Arlene Behrens October 12 and 13.  Information

4) Roycroft Copper Shop – Copper Repousse Class – October 12 to

    14. Roycroft Master Artisan Frank Glapa will introduce participants

    to a 2 day workshop on copper repousse work.  Class fee $200 +

5) Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 77 Division Street, Welland, ON will be

    serving a luncheon on Oct. 13 & 14 for $5.00
